About Coach Hermes

Certified Soccer Coach

Coach Hermes Lima hails from Cabo Verde, a country comprised of ten islands off the western coast of Africa. He's been playing soccer—or futebol, as he grew up calling it—since he learned to walk. After he immigrated to the United States at age ten, he started playing competitively. He graduated from Mount Ida College, now known as Mount Ida Campus of UMass Amherst, with a degree in Sports Management. There, he was a starter for the men's soccer team for three of the four years he attended.

With over ten years of coaching experience, Coach Hermes is known for leaving an impression on not only his players, but their parents. He even enjoys connecting with them beyond the field—often attending other extra-curricular events such as school plays.

When he's not coaching, you can find him playing knee hockey with his eldest daughter, watching her play hockey on her club and school teams, chasing after his infant daughter, occasionally playing in a men's or co-ed soccer league, or kicking for the Boston Bandits semi-pro football team. He considers himself lucky if he can get 6 hours of sleep.
